Well, I downloaded patch 1.2 from this link: www.mediafire.com/?gyymgj2mmmz and I overwrote the mapeditor.exe and the .dll files. I hope this was right. Well, it doesn´t seem so, because when I start BK now nearly everything goes well(I hear music, can click on everything...) but I cannot see anything cause theres just a black screen. And smart I am, I didn´t do any backup of the .dll files. So that´s my problem. I hope you can help me avoiding a reinstall. P.S.: If it means something, the mapeditor goes all right, but the reseditor doesn´t even start.

It has been a long time since I installed that patch (7 years!?!?) but I think it only is needed with the original BK issue. The more recent ones like BK Anthology include at least the gameplay portions of that, I am not sure if BKA includes the revised map editor, I think that was made by Lee Campbell. My suggestion is that if you think you do need that patch you should try downloading it from the CDV site. The Editor can be found in links here , try looking in the thread called "Hello downloads"( in the Map section I think) there are links for all of that stuff there.

I do not know which map editor is included in your link , it may or may not be the one made by LC that allows the use of custom aircraft and also fixes a couple of other minor issues. I do know that Lees Editor, as well as a treasure trove of other useful BK things includung Lees BK Start Tool which makes dealing with Mods- etc. easy is in this link : cid-fe07bbced7a88814.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/.Public

JS is right, Patch 1.2 is included with later editions of BK.
Why would you overright the game.exe and .dll? The Patch sits as a .pak file in your Blitzkrieg\Run\data folder.

Well the link given to me didn´t included the patch but some kind of a improved map editor. That confused me and I recognized that I never had installed Patch 1.2. My question now is, whether the mapeditor above is already included in Patch 1.2(cause the file name is Mapeditor 1.2) or is it a improved version, that need to be installed afterwards.

Well, again, if your version of Blitzkrieg was made after about 2004, then you do not need any patches. That patch came out in 03 and all versions released since then have the patch incorporated into them already. CDV did make a revised editor at some point, but it still does not allow custom aircraft to be used. You need the editor in the link I posted to be able to use all of the new things included in Mods.

Wow a real original BK disc??? I still have one, but it got severely scratched, and now looks like milk after an attempt to polish out the scratches . The version I run these days is the Anthology release, which is nice because you no longer need to have the disc inserted to play. It sounds like you have found some useful things in that link, be careful about installing too many add-on .paks as sometimes you can have conflicts that cause crashes. If you do have crashes( and you will )- don't panic- remove items beginning with the last thing you installed until the game will function again. Happy BKing!
