I guess I will have to eventually get Win7. Just the thought of spending more money makes my stomach turn.

Your idea is getting more and more interesting. It's a pity you have those hardware problems.

Thanks Folgore. Im sure its penance for all the terrible things I have done in my life. It's like the movie Mr. Roberts with Henry Fonda. Im just dying to see some action before the war's over:)

I guess I will have to eventually get Win7. Just the thought of spending more money makes my stomach turn. I hear you there Dan, computers are a money pit with no bottom. Just about the time you think you have the pit filled in, the sand drains away and you have to fill it in again. I asked around on some forums and the consensus seems to be for your XP install problem that the correct drivers are not present on your copy of XP, as you had surmised. I do have a copy of XP that has been "slipstreamed" to include most of the service packs and I think that version of XP will install, but that serial # is already registered. If it does work, and you want to register it, you would just register it with your existing xp serial # after the install. I do know where you can get a copy of Win7 for $65 if you decide or are forced to go that route. If you do end up getting Win 7, BK will work, sort of. You cannot install it into the suggested x86 folder that Win7 wants to put it in. You must install it in a separate folder. Even then , strange things can happen, like Win7 deciding it wants to re-arrange your entire install without asking and the map editors generally not functioning. These issues with BK and Win7 are pretty much the only reason I have a dual boot with XP/Win7 right now. I had very similar issues installing XP on this motherboard. It took weeks of banging my head against the wall, and then one day the wall crumbled and I got XP to install, hopefully it will work out in the end for you as well.
