Heya, I recently bought the Blitzkrieg Anthology, Stalingrad, and World War I, but I've noticed a bit of a problem that's making the games pretty hard to enjoy: For some reason all three games are stuttering like crazy. What I mean is, I've seen videos of these games, and the units move rather fluidly. On my PC, they're moving like they're clay stop-motion models, skipping multiple frames.
When I right-click to move a unit, the little green circle that flashes on the ground takes a few seconds to animate. Vehicles move the way a kid moves toy cars when playing, as a number of short "hops" instead of just rolling/crawling along the terrain.
My GPU displays the FPS that the game is running at as 60 FPS and above, but the game feels like it's going at around one-fourth of that. This problem is persistent across Blitzkrieg 1, Stalingrad, and World War I, but doesn't affect any other games that I play, including much newer titles.
The game menus and GUI seem to not have any problems or stuttering; it's just the actual battle window that is hitching like this. Scrolling with either mouse or keyboard isn't smooth, orders are noticeably delayed, and of course the units themselves, both mine and the AI's, stutter all over the place at an incredibly low framerate.
Things I've tried with no success:
-Running the game in windowed mode
-Running the game in fullscreen mode
-Running in compatibility mode(World War I at least doesn't even launch when I try to run it in any compatibility mode below Vista, and Vista compatibility mode has the same problem as running it without compatibility mode)
-Running the game as administrator
-Checking "Disable Visual Themes" and "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" under the "Compatibility" settings for the program
-Adjusting the in-game graphics settings, including the FPS limit. Setting it to 0, 30, and 60 did nothing.
-Changing the resolution that the game is displayed in
-I can't try to run it with a different GPU, as I don't have any others, and my CPU doesn't have an integrated graphics processor.
System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
AMD FX-4100 quad-core, 3.60 GHz
NVIDIA GTX 750 TI
8 GB RAM
Any help that you guys could offer would be appreciated more than I can express. These games look amazing, and I'd love to be able to play them.
