Hello, guys:
I hope any of you have experienced this issue or has heard of that problem before because it's quite strange to me. My mapeditor.exe does not even open (the splash screen appears and disappears after a short while without any error message being shown) when I place a large modobjects.xml file inside Run/data. I have tried with CSLA files, but also with Panzerwaffen's or GZM's. However, if I shorten the modobjects.xml file (let's say 60-80-100 units) the mapeditor.exe opens and works perfectly. I also tried a clean installation and using BK anthology, but nothing changes.
I hadn't experienced this before. I am using Win10 on a laptop.
NOTE: This is not happening when the modobjects.xml file is inside the Run/Mods/CSLA/data folder.
Thanks in advance!

I had something similar a couple of days ago. The map editor starts, the splash screen appears and then disappears without any error. This happened with the RT_BH installation from BK Anthology with SH Mod installed. The strange thing problem just started with no apparent reason. One day everything is okay, the next day the map editor does not start any more. I did not change or install anything. After losing valuable time again I reinstalled Anthology and added the Anthology_BH-RT_Texture_Patch.pak and matching config.cfg file. Now everything works again. Maybe try to config.cfg file in the run folder. If it doesn't help then it will not harm.
Also in my case there was no modobjects.xml file in the run/data/ folder but there was in the run/mod/SH/data folder.
So I did not really find the cause of the problem but had the same experience.
Running Windows 10 on a Dell Laptop and not happy with it.

I guess there should be something wrong in your modobject.xml file.
I had that issue too in past if I had any wrong text in my modobjects.xml
Are that about the data what I send you?

No, it's not related with the data you sent me. And no, I don't think it's related with the modobjects.xml content itself, since it works properly when on a Mods folder. Plus I don't think the GZM guys released their work with a corrupted modobjects.xml file...

i disgust the new 'super' power technologies and their related 'super' new operative systems, where 'super' is just the scandaleous result in practice terms, i mean, too much things don't work and people who started gaming or work with computers 20 or 10 years ago have to go crazy to make run something which isn't properly the last 'super' innovation .. personal opinion a part, i met several people in the web who using this trick make work 'old' things with win10
maybe or surely you already know this, anyway, i know by people experiences, if you have a copy of win 8.1 should be better for many things of our passed times ..

Thank you very much for your attention, buddy. I agree with you. Sadly, that didn't solve my problem.

..mmm no sadness, JOY
which definetly says :
Lads, try this combo of measures:
- Execute in compatibility mode for Windows XP (SP2, not 3)
- Set affinity to the "0" core of the processor (mine's a Pentium R G3250 3.20Ghz Dual Core)
- Use 16-bit reduced color mode
- Run software as Administrator
- Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
- Include the entire package (Game launcher, map editor and reseditor) as a Data Execution Prevention exception. If running Anthology, include all 3 versions (B1, BH and RT). You should end up with 9 exceptions then.
- If you use Steam or some other online platform, run the game directly from the PC; disable all instances of said platform immediately after launch.
- Close all other applications before launch and during play time.
So far, game has been working beautifully, with no freezes or crashes; long play time, lots of instructions given, very big maps running smoothly, biggest mods deployed without even a glitch...
To me, it seems that I found the answer.

No, but the one I have is not in the C folder... I asked because launching the map editor does make some changes in the registry. This caused me trouble in the past. I assume you already tried deleting the objects.gdb file. I said earlier that I started from a clean install of RT-BH but this is not a 100% correct. I always keep a new installed version of RT-BH as a backup. So what I do is install the game and then copy the whole directory to another folder as a backup and make another copy to play the game from. Afterwards I uninstall the game. So what I actually did was to make a copy of the backup and then move the mod folder to this installation. After adding the nthology_BH-RT_Texture_Patch.pak and matching config.cfg file I could start the mapeditor again.

I tried everything you guys suggested, but I am afraid I was not able to solve that. However, I bet this topic will be of help for those suffering some problems related to those "new-era OS".
Thank you both.

Surprise... I am experiencing the same issue with Maya, which does not even open. I've tried reinstalling the C++ Redistributables and so on, but nothing happened.

@kevin, do you launch Maya via a desktop shortcut? If so then maybe try to launch form the folder where you have Maya installed.
