I have a question: How to use the Reseditor More exactly, how to open a file in the unit reseditor for editing .

There are several different editors in the RES. Which type do you want to edit? I believe there is a menu option for the different editors and opening a "project" loads the unit. There is the help file available if yours is corrupt. It was a language font issue, I think.

There are a lot of issues with the ResEd!
Right now I am trying to use the ResEd to create a .dds map to be used in a chapter. I tried the chapter editor but didn't get far.

Thank you for your answers. My Reseditor is the 1.0 But it's impossible to open a file of one unit or building or another type of file. I don't understand how to use the tool. Is it a another version of reseditor and help file and where to download this. Thank you.

Hello Fabrice. To open a building you have allso need of the BK recource kit. I don't know where you can find it, but I'm sure someone on this forum does. Anyway, in this recource kit you find all basic textures used in bk. In that way you can alter those basic textures (targa)and then you can load them in the recource editor. Then they are converted to dds..

Hi, i wasn´t able to find the link on this forum, but it was more fast to upload it again then to find it here... this is the help file for the res-editor: www.mediafire.com/?agk1e4de5xk1k56it helped me not that much, but the res-editor is VERY tricky and this help file tells you for example where to point the directorys for every editor... when loading the chapter file (.chc) into editor, you must have the exact tga file in your folder! you can take one from the resource kit.

Using the ResEditor:
1st you need to decide what you will edit: buidling, unit, squad, bridge, mission, chapter etc.
each type needs some sort of "template": .bld for building .mip for maps .obt for objects .wpn for weapons
use these templates from the resource kit and do read F1; it explains what you can do for each type. it's not perfect but it does explain a lot.

Hello Thank you for your reply. It gives me the solution to my problem. However, I have not had time to test it. In fact I work at the same time creating a multiplayer campaign with another member of my clan: Susio, Olaf, etc.. So as leisure time is not expandable, I'm stuck. Anyway thank you for your answers and congratulations for this dynamic site that makes me want to get involved in the creation of new maps and scenarios.

I must have forgotten a step. I create the TGA files for my building and then no way to integrate them into the Reseditor. So I can not find the manipulation. Is there a tutorial on this subject; Thank you
