I have a little suggestion for you guys.
It's getting clear that a lot of members of the community will have to move with Vista some days. I have myself a good PC with XP and a new laptop with Vista and I did experience problems with it. I can't use mapeditor but I must confess that I didn't have the dual core patch, I didn't try harder than that for the use of BK with my laptop but now I think it will be a good idea to have it solve.
So I would love to see a topic or a tutorial to explain, step by step, how to install BK in Vista. A link to all the required patch to install and other important things to know, in order to make the use of BK AND mapeditor friendly with Vista.
What do you think?

jeff, that's a nice idea. As you have said, we will move to Vista (or never) anyway, it would be good to know the process step by step and have all required items.

I would guess that most people who want to upgrade will now go straight to Win 7 does anyone have Blitz experience with this OS? I myself have had no problems with vista on two machines and using premium and ultimate (at least when i moved it out of programme files) however this is only playing and not editing/modding however. With win 7 coming out this month and the R/C and RTM versions having been available for some time, maybe win 7 will solve all the vista troubles people have... Here's hoping

Just had a quick play with BK on Win 7 RC (my main OS until the retail copy comes through the door) and everything is ok, haven't installed any patches, dual core patches or anything. Worked straight out of the box.

Have never needed to use the Dual core patch either on my Dual core laptop or i7 desktop, maybe there are some other issues people have and its just not vista? Do people have general problems or is it just with the map editor and such? I find it hard to understand why some people struggle and other times it works fine?would be great to get a definitive answer somehow, good news for Win 7 for the future!

I re-installed the whole kit, niet. No problem with the mapeditor but BK won't start, any way I tried. Can someone provide me a link to the dualcore patch and tell me where to put it, so I can be happy again.

As far as I know is that AMD Dual Core users have to install the dual core patch.
Intel users are not required to install the patch.

Saying that Vista is pissing me off is so polite.
There's no english insulte I know enough to express my feelings about it.
I do have a LOT of french words that could CLEARLY represente my state of mind.
Microsoft is a *7*&%$/?&(*&?&%$?%)(*+( company.
I quit.
