Nothing needs vista. I have XP with a Vista theme. There is nothing better.

As much as I like XP its, what, 7+ years old?
Ritchie (ritzmod) has a point though...when I tried to downgrade to XP on my Vista laptop there were no drivers at all for it and most of the software it had on it would not run under XP...I had to pay around 25 euros to buy a CD to repair it >.<

Jeff, try to install BK elsewhere. I mean an external HD or a USD key. For reasons I can't understand (...I'm using XP ;D...) seems that Vista doesn't like certain things intalled in C:\Programs (i.e. the same folder of the OS). The PC of my son has Vista, but he plays BK by the old HD of his burned laptop. The HD is into a USB box which is connected to the PC and everything works fine.

No, I installed it in C drive and it doesn't work. I installed it in D drive and it doesn't work I installed it in my backup tape (external drive via usb) and it doesn't work.
Thanks for your time but I stop waisting mine. My XP pc is working well and I'll keep using it.

Since I am going to a school were we deal with computers I can say, that it might be not Vista alone (there sure are issues with it concerning BK, no doubt). I had to buy another laptop since my graphics board decided to "Rest in Pieces". Now, at my old laptop, I needed to install the dual core patch, I needed to go in high power mode and I couldn't play something before bk without restarting. Now, with my new laptop, I don't have any of these issues. No restarting, no patch (PK doesn't work with it ) and no highpower mode (this ruined the battery of my old notebook). What I want to say, it might be a problem with the hardware in "cooperation" with Vista. Anyway, I would recommend everybody to move on to Windows 7 instead of Vista. I had the chance to test a bit, has every benefits of Vista (security etc.) and is much faster. Only negative thing is that it needs slightly more HD-space. But I think that this trend is not going to go into the other direction. And with HDs which have 500GB+ it is not such a big trouble I think. If someone has a question for this subject, feel free to ask, Greets, evil_little_kenny

I bought a XP Pro sp3 DVD and I'm gonna downgrade to it tonight.
I downloaded all the required drivers, an .iso cd for the HD and made a recovery OS Vista copy.
I trully hope it will work, I can't wait to get back to mapping, on the kitchen table.
YEAHHHHHHH!!

There is a way to "trick" Vista for installing XP (you can have them run parrallel on one computer). I am not sure now, I will ask a friend who did it for more info.
