i open this thread to talking about my next work on pacific theater, but first to fix something about far east units. i would fix japanese soldier no blood skins, you know the bug about infantry movement, but i don't know how do. Have you see my temporany units pak for no blood use, linked to my chapter Far East, there i just edit the 2 .dds files of the units which have blood too expanded and dazzling (chinese units and japanese cavalry) _h and _bh. could i go to substitute just the .dds files with another one, without touch .san .xml and txt files to have new japanese infantry skin? about dds files _h is no blood version, _bh is blood version? why i've see _h with blood?

hi, under the usual and precious support of tedi88, i'm realizing a whole infantry skin pak for infantries of east asia theater. i'm going to release it with next chapter, today in progress. pak will include blood off setting for chinese, japanese, and other east asia theater units (half of this work was attached to Far East chapter and was only about chinese units). japanese inf units and manchukuo shooter are totally changed than the originals, this for avoid movement bug cause when you play with setted blood off. i've just re-paint algerian mg i've use for MG, Des_jap rifle i've used for rifleman and vietminh shooter i've used for grenadier. i'm ugly, this is what i can do as patch for this question, but if someone can do better please don't esitate to do something. Contributions, comments and suggestions are really appreciated.

about next chapter, it will be more balanced because more historical accurate about enemies forces (i'm going to use my own scale of units also for enemy player following real order of battle).
for now i've realized : (contestual) a metropolitan manchukuo map where you lead a Kempeitai regiment and a kempeitai native section agaist the anti-japanese chinese forces in the mid-30 during the pacification campaign of manchukuo (historical) the offensive of Yasuoka detachment during the battle of Nomonoan against ussr-mongolian forces
in progress, i'm working on : (historical) the offensive of Saeki detachment during the battle of Jitra against british forces
i thinked to build also : (historical) a battle in the dutch indies campaign against the dutch-australian-us (historical) a battle in the philippines campaign against filipino-us forces (historical) a battle near burma road agaist chinese-us airforce (to avoid chinese airplanes bug, they don't shoot enemies airplanes) and to use thailand units ... and could be cool a naval/landing battle, to use naval units
as i said before i'm trying to represent real battles and releated order of battle, possibly where tanks take part in fighting (as in china invasion, malayan campaign, philippine campaign, dutch east indies campaign) if you know battles for the scenarios not build yet and want suggest me such event or something other, i repeAT don't esitate.

hi james, in burma campaign i know japanese use just 1 tank company (like for guadalcanal), but i'm going to go in deep about this. i remind you to this pageedit : i don't found informations on this fact, just some tiny hints, and some articles are refer to the cross by british in 1944, i can't work with so few news. usually i use wikipedia as source, where are well explained battles, you know some other chanel ( i'm watching now bbc site).

i'm planning philippines campaign map, i think to chose the main attack near Rosario, following the landing of 22 december along the east coast of Lingayen Gulf, by men of the 48th Division and one regiment of the 16th Division, supported by artillery and approximately 90 tanks. there were 11th and 71st Divisions (PA) and 26th Cavalry (PS) as allied side. does someone know, or can know, what's the correct order battles of the two sides and the releated fighting? it seems americans offered just air support to filipino army, Us land troops were only in baatan peninsula during the 4 months siege of the allied positions? the problem is before this siege, many japanese units were turned to dutch east indies campaign so order of battles became more confused to read.
edit : i focus in deep the episode on internet, but the main aid i've received by an historical italian book about ww2 'Continenti in fiamme - 2194 giorni di guerra' editore arnoldo mondadori, which was a gift by one of my uncles. Here i found also a detailed map of the operations in Luzon. So Tsuchihashi detachment, composed by 48th inf. div., 4th and 7th tank rgt. (while 9th rgt of 16th inf div landed more to north and wasn't part of this detachment) fight agaist Us 26th cavalry rgt (PS), Us 192th tank battalion and filipino 11th and 71st inf div.
edit 2 advancing to south, japanese will meet also other 2 philippine infantry division (21st and 31st). but unfortunaly i don't found a clear analytics list of north Luzon defence force.

i'm reading about 2nd division advance in west java, Sato detachment (which is the only had tank regiment attached) move in direction of Batavia, while the rest of division moved more south. i readed also about Shoji detachment (230th inf rgt) and its capture of airfield and conjuction after the occupoation of Batavia with the forces of 2nd division in baodeng fortress. i couldn't found detailed allied order of battle of batavia area and releated position of the units on the map, and allied forces in baodeng fortress, someone can help me. instead i found this document which explain very well japanese composition units and releated operations in west and east java.

i'm near to finish the 4 maps i've developed in these last 30-40 days. it should miss one in china-burma, where i want make join chinese army supported by usa/or british army ( Squire James if you want trasmit me some informations about the fact you mentioned above i can taste the consistence of the battle), and one as landing by IJN landing forces, often used as first approach for the subsequent main land invasion, for this now i'm thinking to papaua new guinea's north shore invasion, but there are many more, moreover some IJN land units became paratroopers formations (see operations in Timor, Celebes, Sumatra). Contributions, comments and suggestions are really appreciated. Furthermore, i must ask help to you because i want realize this chapter as a map pak. In my maps i try to give the maximun of free choose for the player who can apply different and own strategy to achieve the objective, destroy the enemy, so i wanted the same in the choose of battle to do. i've just made the chapter map on which should appear different circles giving the option of choose in which battle play, as in chapter when you can decided where play before, you've open all maps you can choose. compared to a classic chapter i think i should change script and xml in 'chapter' folder, can someone report me the correct strings and their position in the script/xml files? i should change other also in xml of single maps? edit : also an example of a custom chapter build on this kind ... someone know?

last night i've continued my work of correction of the gzm infantries units with bugs, last holland gunner and sapper. i made also new skins for the japanese and manchukuan infantries, i think more detailed and consistency. moreover i changed some xmls which allow now to have more reach composition for each rifle squad (jap_rifle, jap_rifle96 and jap_rifle99). I changed marines squad to have the same look of the kaigun tokubetsu rikusentai represented in jap_des_squad. i believed it was a lot more complicated to realize but finally i could did it simply looking other works. can someone suggest me a custom chapter with the structure i want realize?

yesterday night i was testing units for a new amphibious assault map 'menado'. i musted re-do holland shooter and officer too because, always in blood off mode setting, when they are down there are lots of bugs in lying movement. founding to work on that model which fasya used for the communist chinese rifle, and that it's the only of that kind which work very well also in blood off mode without any problems, i've re-styled also philippines rifles.

about amphibious assault map, i've watched infantries can't stay in daihatsu cargo which is on the water terrain, they must be on passable water or game crash. i'm thinking to draw some routes of passable waters, where quietly deploy cargos with infantries which can land on the beaches, and encircle them with water terrain. this for avoid a grafic effect for which if an artillery bullet hit the passable water ground open a hole ground, you know what i wanted mean? i want see water splash for how is possible to realize. someone knows a better way to do that??

exploring, i've seen two xml files which could patch some problems. despite i setted in chapter or mission xml selected japanese music for explore and combat phases, when i'm in game it seems music setting edited are overwrite by 'musicsetting.xml' if i change here, maybe that problem can't never occur? i can't fix correct position of rifle shooter on machineguns. i've watch in partys.xml maybe if i set gunner as howitzer crew this can be solve, you have any/more ideas about this?

Hello ari, The music settings file always tends to have to point back to the standard BK directory and not a mod foldered one. So the root directory for any new music will have to still be pointing at the core directory for its new music files which can of course be changed/renamed without problems I believe as long as they remian in the main directories. As for the second issue Jap_hmg will actually end up being the crew that mans HMG's for the Japanese side in your files. This must be changed/modified in the squads folder and you must completely replace all crew members with the desired soldiers in all formations of the squad for it to take proper effect. Just study a squad and you will see what I mean. I hope this helps ari... and that I properly understood your issue. -iLeeT_PeeP

thank you iLeeT_PeeP_PeeP for suggestions, but i didn't put nothing new, i'm just trying to improve an half work ... many graphic bugs on infantries and a lot of bug about fight of the aircrafts i detected using GZM in this war theater.

no rifleman model i tried works good as machinegun crew. thanks to iLeeT_PeeP_PeeP and tedi88 to have me suggest that if i put gunners in HMG formation i'd have a better result about japanese rifle squads i change shooters once again, the previous brown chinese model used for japanese rifle i'm using now for manchukuo squad.
